Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy
Your blood contains components called platelets which contain growth factors. Growth factors activate and stimulate cellular regeneration in the body.
PRP has been used for years in sport medicine due to its restorative ability for joint and muscles. In recent years, this therapy has been used successfully in aesthetics medicine in a variety of treatments.
PRP for Skin & Hair Rejuvenation
PRP Therapy is effective in the skin for overall rejuvenation and healing and in the scalp to awaken dormant follicles and stimulate hair growth. When released, growth factors encourage collagen production and formation of new capillaries.
PRP Therapy is safe when performed by a qualified medical professional. The treatment can be completed within an hour.
Here is how it works:
A minimal amount of blood is drawn from the patient and then placed in a centrifuge for separation.
The Platelet Rich Plasma is separated and transferred to a syringe. PRP is golden in color, viscous and injected with minimal discomfort and absolutely no downtime.
Using your own platelets (Autologous) virtually eliminates any potential negative side-effects, allergies or rejection.
Clinical Trials and empirical data have shown that platelets can increase the production of Collagen and Elastin, both of which are the foundation for supple, youthful looking skin.
A Natural Method to Anti-Aging
PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) Therapy utilizes the growth factors in your own blood to stimulate collagen production and increase circulation.
The PRP is separated from your blood and then injected in areas showing volume loss, translucency and sagging. In short, this treatment adds volume to your skin and stimulates cells to reproduce.
Micro Needling Therapy creates tiny channels in the skin allowing for better penetration of growth factors applied to the surface of your skin. The channels close naturally and the growth factors stimulate healing.
The result is visibly tightened skin, improved texture, tone and a clear reduction in pore size, fine lines and wrinkles.
PRP can be used to treat:
- Epidermal thinning and volume loss in the face, neck and décolletage
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Circles, bags and discoloration in the eye region
- Vertical lip lines
- Diminish definition in nasolabial folds
- Active acne and acne scars
- Stretch marks
- Hair Loss
PRP for Hair Loss
PRP is used in combination with Micro Needling Therapy to stimulate hair growth naturally. There are many benefits of using PRP treatment to promote healing for hair growth.
Highly concentrated growth factors in the form of platelets have been shown to generate new hair growth, thicken thinned out hair, and make hair transplants grow thicker and healthier.
If the hair follicles or hair roots are healthy, the growth of the hair is healthy.
Hair follicles survive on the nutrition they get from blood supply.
If we introduce platelets by administering platelet rich plasma (PRP) in the area of damaged hair follicles, it amplifies the body’s naturally occurring wound healing mechanism.
To Reinvigorate Dormant Hair Follicles
After noting enhanced hair growth of transplanted hair after use of PRP, researchers conducted a small study of PRP effect on dormant non-transplanted hair follicles.
The study hypothesized that platelet growth factors can “wake up” dormant hair follicles and begin the production of new hair.
PRP was applied after scalp skin was slightly injured to induce platelets to release growth factors at the injury site. Enhanced hair growth and hair diameter was noted over the next 4 months.
Potential PRP Benefits Include:
- Safe procedure with few side effects
- Fast recovery time
- Targeted and accelerated healing
- Rapid results with long-term benefits
- Natural, visible improvement without artificial enhancement
